Dr. Hanson believes in the potential to thrive.

A graduate of the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and a board certified naturopathic doctor with prescriptive authority. Dr. Hanson has a primary care practice, with a focus in sports medicine, chronic pain management, autoimmunity, chronic illness, and hormone health.

Using an evidence based approach, research and in depth testing are paired to guide a comprehensive treatment plan. Her customized method uses natural interventions such as supplements, physical medicine, lifestyle modifications and clinical nutrition alongside western medical therapeutics for an individually tailored treatment.

Her approach works in partnership with each patient, to uncover the intricate network of factors contributing to health. Dr. Hanson understands that each individual’s perspective of health is unique, so ultimately she is committed to optimizing wellness where body and mind are in balance with each patient’s values and their environment.

Calling the mountains of western Canada home, Dr. Hanson grew up immersed in the world of sport and quickly developed a keen interest in health and the human body. As a varsity lacrosse player for the University of Toronto, it was during her undergraduate degree that the fields of sport and science intersected to fuel a journey towards naturopathic medicine. After completing an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Dr. Hanson went on to complete her naturopathic medical training at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. At Boucher she developed the love of primary care medicine, and as well as explored special interests in the areas of physical medicine, chronic pain management, and autoimmunity.

Dr. Hanson has always believed in a well rounded practice, supplementing her scientific study with a strong commitment to athletics, philanthropy, and leadership endeavours. Dr. Hanson currently serves on the board of directors for the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and was an active member of the community during her time at Boucher. She served as a teaching assistant, ZRT Cup team member, and Vice president of the Boucher Naturopathic Student Association in her third year. In her fourth year, with a passion for the mentorship model of education at hand, Adrianna founded the LINC Mentorship Initiative alongside the department of Alumni Affairs. This mentorship program has now grown to exist nationwide, pairing new naturopathic graduates with more experienced doctors, fostering growth and innovation amongst the entire medical community. Over the course of her clinical training, Dr. Hanson volunteered her time with externships at Vancouver’s Friends for Life society and Positive Living BC, as well as with Natural Doctors International in Omatepe, Nicaragua. While Dr. Hanson has a strong passion for extra-curricular involvement, her commitment to academics remained a top priority, and upon graduation she received the prestigious BINM award for Academic Excellence.

In her spare time, Adrianna can be found hiking or biking through BC’s land of misty giants, taking in live blues tunes from Vancouver’s local music scene, or sitting in wanderlust for the next travel adventure.
